{Updates located at the bottom of article.}

So my Cobalt is now a statistic of the massive recall. Few weeks ago I was coming to a stopsign at our court when the ignition switched off, and now?

The battery that was perfectly in proper condition is dead as a doornail. Seems that when the improperly fitting key shuts off the ignition and is removed, it could fail to turn off various electrical systems.

Surprise! The dealership said they STILL haven't received the replacement ignition the recall will install after waiting nearly TWO MONTHS NOW. Not to mention they "wouldn't be able to get to inspecting it until Monday or Tuesday.

General Motors THEMSELF have said they would take care of it's affected consumers with loaner, etc.

So far I've not gotten replies from them here, or emails, and still can't find how they provide these services.

Copied this from my facebook posting, so since I'm putting it here I can be a bit more colorful with how upset I am.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

FUCK

MOTORS.

You all buckle up and for god sakes stop kicking the back of my seat or else this Volvo wagon is gonna pull right on over. Don't make me start counting....

Tomorrow I'll attempt to garner the patience to call this 'Recall Hotline' GM has.

Wellp I have my Cobalt back in the driveway.

"Woah Taylor that was hella fast to get over with!" Is what you might be saying, minus the hipster lingo.

But oh no no!~

They take me as a moron and say the battery was simply bad/used up. What was said next has me kinda' up in arms and ready to flip all tables within a one mile radius:

"We still haven't gotten the ignition in to replace the one that is recalled. But it's safe to drive."

IS THIS SOME ELABORATE RUSE I AM TAKING PART IN GUYS. PLEASE SAY IT IS.

Because looking at this pile of recall alert notices from GM itself says there is a chance that uh, it ISN'T.

Days Since Sutherland Chevrolet of Nicholasville, Kentucky has supposedly ordered this ignition: potato

Nothing. Nothing has progressed since I last updated you all on JUNE 16th.

I honestly don't know what the hell to do quite frankly. Resale value dropped to full-retard levels it seems, which was earlier reported but just now hitting the big mass media outlets.

I'm getting actually pissed off just writing about this, so we'll see what happens in the future. Uhg.

My friend in school has a Saturn Ion also affected. She had the ignition switch off well merging on the highway (told me it was the scariest thing to ever happen to her as she almost got crushed by a semi since she had no power). So she takes it to the GM dealer. her cars been sitting for about 3 months now. AND, they are charging her for a battery since like yours, the car killed itself with these issues. She has times where when she goes to turn off the car, it still runs so she has to manually disconnect the battery.

Now, luckily she got a loaner. BUT, since shes 17, she cannot drive it. So, her mom drives that and she is now stuck driving a huge Ford Expedition, which gets like 13 MPG. So shes pissed too.

I have gottten aproximately 7 million letters about the recall so far......I sent my car in, got annoyed that it was taking so long and stole it back.

I have had it shut off while driving.

I have had the battery issue.

My power steering cuts out.

They gave me a loaner that was a fucking Sonic. Not even a Turbo Sonic.

Sounds to me you're working with a poorly run dealer. Haven't offered you a loaner, and told you the car was safe even though GM says it clearly ISN'T.

Having worked at the other Chevy Dealership here in Lexington, I think I can safely say the ones around here are all poorly ran. I mean, the owner daily drives a 2013 Bentley Conti GT. :|

I brought my grandmother's Cadillac SRX to the local GM dealer to have a tech look at the power mirrors that were acting strangely, and they didn't even have time to talk to me. I was told to make an appointment and even that would be months from now, because all of the techs are backed up with recall work. In fact, their entire employee parking lot and an empty lot for overfill is full of Cobalts, HHRs, Ions and G5s just sitting there. I haven't seen any Solstices or Skies there waiting to be fixed.

"Poorly ran" doesn't even begin to describe how appalling Rod Hatfield Chevrolet is.

Tell me about it. I sold a 45th Anniversary Camaro and somehow only made $100? Lolno. I quit after they pulled shit like that.

A $100 commission on a $50,000 car? Holy Christ. What was their commission rate? Only visible with an electron microscope?

I bought my Astra from them. Long story short, Jason (I think that was the sales manager's name) was an absolute dickhead.

You need to now stylize this photo like a rap music video, but replace $100 bills with recall notices. Maybe take some pictures of you throwing them at strippers.

I got 99 problems and an ignition is one.
